Hello! My name is Amelia and I am a 2nd year Dental student currently studying at Queens University Belfast. I previously went to King Edward High School for Girls where I did my GCSEs and A-Levels. I achieved 7 A*s and 3 As in my GCSEs and then went on to study Chemistry, Biology and Geography where I achieved an A* in Geography and an A in both Biology and Chemistry. I am also a very keen sportsman and juggled playing for a national league hockey team whilst doing my A-Levels and now represent the Ireland U21 hockey team. I have done previous tutoring before in my old school for a range of year groups in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry and Geography. I found this very rewarding and would love the opportunity to help you gain the best grades you can! ……………………………..
My teaching style
With my previous tutoring what I found worked the best was first finding out what topics the student wanted to cover and then if they found any areas particularly difficult or harder and then I would focus on these. Then I would produce some questions which were specific to their exam board which they would complete and then we would work through. This would help highlight areas they were still struggling with and I would continue to go through these topics until they fully understood them and could correctly answer questions.
My past experience
I have done previous tutoring before in my old school where I have taught a range of different ages in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry and Geography.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements include making the Ireland U21 Hockey team as well as playing at a national level for squash and playing for England rounders. I have also achieved my grade 6 in clarinet and my Chief Scouts Platinum award.
