Hi, Iโm a second-year medical student at the University of Birmingham, and Iโm thrilled to be tutoring prospective applicants on their journey to medical school. Before starting university, I took a gap year where I gained valuable experience working and travelling, which helped me develop key skills like communication, adaptability, and organisation. Having recently navigated the medical school application process myself, I understand how competitive and challenging it can be, but I also know how to approach it strategically. Iโm here to share my insights into crafting strong personal statements, excelling in admissions tests, and preparing for interviews. My goal is to make the process feel more manageable and help you confidently showcase your strengths and motivations to secure your place in medical school.
My teaching style is student-focused, creating a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable asking questions. I prioritise clear communication, active listening, and tailoring guidance to individual needs.
Iโve conducted both in-person and online mock MMIs, helped students prepare for the UCAT and refine their personal statements, and I also tutor GCSE maths regularly.
Aside from getting into medical school, my proudest achievement is making the most of my gap year. I balanced work with travelling, gaining independence, life skills, and a broader perspective on the world, all of which have shaped me into a more adaptable and resilient person.
