11About Me
Hi Iโm Amy! Iโm a 5th year vet student at the University of Surrey and I love teaching.
Iโve been a mentor for the university for 4 years and have helped plenty of students gain entry into vet school – I absolutely love working with the younger generations. Through this role I have designed and lead sessions, led other ambassadors on activities such as residential summer schools, taught students about university life and key life skills and tutored in GCSE and Alevel science, maths and history. This has been for students from Year 13 all the way to Year 5.
Iโm hoping to go into an equine surgery internship as a career after vet school and I would love to lecture and teach in some capacity as well.
In my part time I like spending time with the friends, my dogs and Iโve recently started playing Lacrosse.
My teaching style
Iโm very flexible with approach and tailor this to each student. I focus on the skills needed to become a good vet – that way youโll be prepared for any interview question that comes your way. Iโm very knowledge but am very empathetic as well.
My past experience
Iโve been a mentor for the university for over 4 years and have absolutely loved it. Iโve taught entry into vet school and other scientific degrees as well as tutoring in Science, History and Maths.
My Proudest Achievements
Gaining 4/4 offers from vet school having come from a very disadvantaged background.
