Hello! My name is Kaso. I am a 3rd year medical student in a Graduate Entry programme (GEM). This is essentially the “accelerated” version of the BSc programme, so it’s quite intense! However by using some solid study methods, I’ve been managing to keep up with the work load and live a balanced life. I love photography, playing the guitar and reading – so if I’m not studying, it’s very likely I’m doing one of these things! Before this degree I did BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry. Throughout these degrees I have developed my learning style and figured out how best to learn and apply knowledge. And on that note… I’d love to help out where I can! Whether it’s with personal statements, interviews, UKCAT, or some tutoring for the big scary GAMSAT exam! I look forward to sharing my experience, tips and tricks with you! ๐
Using your strengths! & Using evidence based study techniques such as Active recall, Spaced repetition, Interleaving and Categorisation (STIC)
Active recall – I use questions in order to learn the material, rather than passive note taking.
Spaced repetition – I will use spaced intervals in order to interrupt the “forgetting curve”.
Interleaving – I will mix up subjects before I get good in any one of them, and this helps with building a bigger picture.
Categorisation – I will build a “skeleton” of the whole material, and this helps with connecting different ideas together.
