Hi guys!
My nameโs Maeve and Iโm an FY1, recently graduated from Southampton med school.
I applied to Medicine as both a school leaver and graduate so I know how hard it is to get in!
I’ve completed a BSc (hons) Health and Human Sciences at Durham University, a BMedSc (hons) at the University of Southampton and have just finished my BMBS.
Iโve provided support to potential medical students at Southampton interview days, through Southamptonโs Widening Access to Medicine Society mentoring scheme and have also been a guidance tutor for medical school applications with Kaplan International.
My previous tutees are now studying Medicine at Southampton, Buckingham, Keele, UEA, Plymouth, Cardiff, St Andrews & Kent Medway Universities.
I’m all about useful and realistic guidance on how to get in, what to expect and what itโs really like so Iโd love to be able to help you too!
If you’re already a medical student and need some support with the theory or practical (OSCE) skills, I’d also love to help!
My teaching style
Every Medical school does things differently so I believe a tailored approach is the best tactic.
I’m keen to focus on practical ways to prep for interviews which can be used in Medicine and future life!
No one can do it alone so using resources and mock interviews are the best way to prep.
My past experience

– Kaplan International: Medical school guidance tutor – Personal statement and interview support.
My Proudest Achievements
1. Getting into Medical school!
2. Surviving Medical school (so far..)
3. Managing to keep 7 houseplants alive…
