Most of our students choose to extend their experience into a second week to enhance their learning opportunities. In the additional week, you'll deepen your existing knowledge and engage in more practical nursing experiences. You'll assume the role of a junior nurse, focusing even more on hands-on learning to refine your skills and gain valuable experience in the field.

You will get taught further tips and techniques on the interview and will take part in a 2nd interview circuit with a new set of stations and topics from last week.
Participate in simulated emergency scenarios, honing your ability to react quickly and effectively in critical situations, while prioritising patient well-being and safety during nursing work experience.
You have the option of adding on our accommodation located in Central London at UCL University Halls (Euston) with 24 hour security and CCTV which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner included. For those staying 2 weeks we provide up to 14 nights stay.
Students will be supported 24/7 with on-site Medic Mind staff who are safeguarding and first-ained trained and have enhanced DBS checks.
Warm breakfast, packed lunch and hot dinner will be provided with our accommodation option at our UCL halls.

During the nursing work experience, you will participate in diverse activities aimed at hands-on learning and gaining insight into the nursing profession. Once booked, the work experience week becomes non-refundable. This policy is in place as we must make comprehensive arrangements, including accommodation and room bookings. If you're uncertain about attending but wish to secure your spot, you have the option to pay a non-refundable deposit of £500. The remaining payment will be due before the course commences.
We strongly recommend this course for individuals aged 14 to 25, including students from Year 9 onwards and graduate entry applicants.
Absolutely not! The majority of our students, constituting 70%, come from international locations and live abroad. We make transportation arrangements convenient by providing pick-up services from Heathrow airport to your accommodation. Furthermore, a dedicated member of the Medic Mind team will welcome you upon arrival and ensure a seamless transition, including drop-off assistance at your departure terminal if needed.
Safety is our utmost priority during the Work Experience week. Your child will be under the supervision of the dedicated Medic Mind Safeguarding team for any necessary travel. Although there is a 30-minute train journey to and from the accommodation to the hospitals/hospice, please rest assured that they will be fully accompanied throughout the journey.
Throughout your stay, you'll reside in single rooms at UCL Accommodation, where daily breakfast and dinner will be provided. Your accommodation will begin from Sunday night, the day before the course, and continue until the last day of the course on Friday, totalling 5 nights. You can book an extra night for an additional fee. You can be assured that the accommodation provides 24/7 security, and trained Medic Mind staff, proficient in first aid and safeguarding, will be present on-site to offer assistance whenever required. Additionally, airport pick-up can be arranged for your convenience.
Students coming to the UK for the Work Experience will require a Standard Visitor visa - https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor
The Standard Visitor visa can only be applied for by parents/guardians and costs £100. They must apply through the UK Gov website only. You can name our course and Medic Mind as the guardians of under 18s and provide them with the course information and booking confirmation when applying for the visa.
We recommend booking flights before applying for the visa, as the visa requires proof of a return flight (the course end date might be sufficient but could result in rejection).

Throughout the entire duration, your child will benefit from continuous support from our Medic Mind staff, all of whom have undergone DBS enhanced checks and extensive training in first aid and safeguarding. We ensure the presence of a female staff member both on-site and within our accommodation premises at all times. Additionally, students will have access to a 24-hour emergency contact number that they can use whenever necessary. This contact number can also be shared with parents and guardians if needed.
The work experience programme runs for five days, commencing at 9 am and typically concluding around 3 pm. However, you will receive a detailed timetable in advance, outlining specific timings for each day's activities. For those staying at UCL Halls with us, we have organised evening activities such as movie nights, bowling, and more to enrich your experience beyond the classroom.
Acknowledging the challenges presented by the current economic climate, we provide interest-free instalment plans over 3 to 6 months to offer flexibility in payment. However, please be aware that a non-refundable deposit of £500 is necessary to secure your spot.
Booking our accommodation is optional; you have the flexibility to commute or arrange your own lodging if necessary. However, choosing our accommodation provides the advantage of receiving support and assistance from our dedicated team, as well as the opportunity to reside alongside other students participating in the work experience programme.
Certainly! Every student will receive a physical certificate as evidence of their participation in the course. This certificate holds significant value, especially for their UCAS application, as many universities require evidence of participation in extracurricular activities.
